Dhampus village is located 25 KM north of the central Kaski district. Dhampus is a traditional Gurung village situated at an altitude of 1650 m above the sea level. The village offers an opportunity to explore the lifestyle of the ethnic Gurung community.

Besides, one can experience the landscape view of the Himalayas. Annapurna Mountain range and Manaslu Mountain range are the notable mountain ranges which can be seen from Dhampus. Sunrise and sunset views from the hilltop would be an amazing experience. Village life experience is the key thing to see during your Dhampus visit.

Dhampus village is also famous for a short day and overnight hiking from Pokhara valley. The village is on the gateway to the Annapurna conservation area and on the route of Annapurna base camp trek ,Mardihimal Himal trek and several other treks. There are two hiking routes to reach Dhampus village. People can reach by the off-road drive to Dhampus.

One route begins from Phedi village, around 30 minutes drive from Pokhara. From Phedi, an uphill hike begins, which is approx 2 KM to reach lower Dhampus. After reaching the viewpoint area you can start the walk towards the village settlement of Dhampus village.

Another route is from Kande, about 2 KM uphill hike to reach Australian camp. After reaching Australian camp, one can see the 180-degree view of Annapurna Mountain Range, Manaslu Mountain Range, Pokhara Valley, Landscape view and the lower part of Dhampus village. Another 4 KM hike from Australian camp will take you to the Dhampus village.

Details Itinerary

Day 1:-Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu (Approx.1350m) Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, the KB Adventure Pvt.Ltd.representatives will welcome you and transfer you to the hotel. After refreshment, you will be briefed briefly about your tour by our guide or tour leader. If you have any queries about your upcoming trip, then they should be clarified by this time before calling it a day at one of the Three-Star Hotels in Kathmandu.

Day 2:-Drive to Pokhara (850m) You will leave the cultural melting pot of Nepal, the Kathmandu Valley, early in the morning, right after breakfast, and drive towards yet another tourist hub of the country, Pokhara. The drive of about 7-9 hours is joyous through the popular Prithivi Highway, passing by the scenic traditional village, roaring rivers, and lush hills with occasional mountain views until you arrive in Pokhara at the center of the Annapurna Himalayas and Dhaulagiri.

Day 3:- Drive from Pokhara 860 m to Dhampus Phedi and trek to Dhampus village at 1,520 m high (45 mins drive and 3 hours walks. The morning starts after getting organized for a few days trek, having breakfast where a short drive of about half an hour reaches you at the base of Dhampus Hill known as Phedi. Start climb on stone steps for some time to reach the level ground with a nice farm village and terrace field. Views of the valley down below as the walk continues for short while with last final climb of the day to reach the high ridge at Dhampus village for an overnight halt in the comfort of the nice homely lodge.

Day 4:-Morning enjoy views and trek to Sarankot 1,460 m – 05 to 06 hours. At Dhampus village morning enjoy views of Annapurna and Manaslu range of peaks with striking sunrise over the mountains, including towering and majestic looking Machhapuchare Himal popularly known as Fish Tail due to twin shaped summit. Enjoy breakfast with wonderful views of the Himalayan range of peaks, and begin second-day walk heading on top Dhampus ridge, then descend to a river gorge for a while within nice farm village. From the gorge a steep climb of less than hour to reach at Naudanda and the village, situated on Pokhara to Beni highway. From here head east towards Sarankot on the nice pleasant trail, where the walk takes you through the large village of KaskiKot to reach at Sarankot for last overnight on the hills of Pokhara valley.

Day 5:- Catch the sunrise over the mountain range and walk to Pokhara – 02 hrs. Sarankot a popular and famous viewpoint hill, attracts hundreds of visitors for glorious sunrise views and panorama of Annapurna and Manaslu range. Where Paragliding and Zip-Flyer a popular adventure sport starts from Sarankot hilltop. After enjoying fabulous views of Himalayan peaks and sunrise having breakfast head downhill towards Phewa Lakeshore, a short walk from here takes you back to your hotel, after completing wonderful Dhampus and Sarankot Trek.

Day 6:-Drive to back to Kathmandu On the 6th day, you will arrive at Kathmandu.you will drive to the Trishuli River. Trishuli River is a well-known river of Nepal, accessible by the Prithivi Highway. This is an exhilarating experience and a wonderful way to conclude the trekking experience. Overnight stay in a hotel.

Day 7:-Departure. As per the 9-day itinerary for the Annapurna DhampushTrekking, it is the day when you officially bid farewell to the Himalayan country of Nepal. Our representative will help you with packing and drop you off at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) three hours before your scheduled flight.
